Aliya Mooney, the heart behind Hearthstone

FOUNDER  |  sole CREATIVE

As the founder + sole creative behind Hearthstone, I pride myself on being a multi-disciplinary designer + photographer with over ten years of experience working with clients.

Before establishing my own business, I built a foundational understanding of marketing strategy by earning my Bachelors degree in advertising, and developing valuable hands-on experience as a full-time designer for both a marketing agency and an in-house brand.

I am an intentional designer that strives to build creative solutions that feel unique to each business, and develop deep partnerships with my clients.

I often draw inspiration from natural shapes, colors, and environments, and deeply enjoy incorporating clever nods to brands’ histories through their visual assets. Most of all, I pride myself on being proactive, attentive to small details, and intentional with design choices to provide my clients with quality and long-lasting design solutions.

  • Every brand project begins with strategy, because impactful design is built from a deep understanding of your goals, purpose, and who you’re serving, not based on surface-level trends.

    To begin, you'll complete the Hearth Check, our signature in-depth questionnaire that helps you unveil your positioning, values, and target audience—clarity that applies to your whole marketing strategy, not just your visuals.

    Then we’ll get together on a live Sit-Down call, where together we’ll dig deeper into the visual and conceptual themes that came through in your initial activities, and find the common thread that brings it all together.

  • After I research your competitors, build a Strategy Deck and mood board(s) for your approval, I start designing. This process takes some time, as I explore font pairings, logo marks, and color palettes.

    When it’s ready, I present one fully developed concept, the one I believe is the best solution based on your goals and target audience. This presentation includes mockups showing your brand in the real world so you can start to visualize how it’ll actually look in-use.

    This stage in the process runs asynchronously, so you review on your own time.

    You’ll have a chance to suggest edits and make tweaks until we get it just right. The majority of past clients have been able to get their brand concept to a place they love in no more than two rounds of revisions.

  • Once you give final approval of your brand concept, I build your Debut Kit, which includes:

    • Every brand file you or your vendors will ever need (PNG, AI, SVG, EPS, PDF)

    • Brand Sheet for quick reference (one-page brand guide)

    • Full Brand Guidelines document (20+ pages of in-depth guidance on how to use your branding properly)*

    • Font Sheet with all download links + recommended licenses

    • Branding Field Guide that walks you through exactly how to use everything + bonus resources, discounts, and video tutorials

    • Branded business card print-ready files

    The Debut Kit is built to provide every possible file you may need, and answer the questions you'll have six months from now, not just today.

    *Full brand guidelines + business cards are only included in our Alcove (Standard) package, or available as add-ons to our Nook (Starter) package
